A missing hand keeps sending pain signals to the brain. Reverberations of trauma and heritage, as endless refrains, are cautiously replaced by the trickster’s hand. The same hand that deceives is the one that fabricates palliative visual and material stimuli, tickling the symptoms without ever reaching the causes of the phantom pain.
